Community Calendar for November 10th

Here’s your community calendar for Thursday, November 10th, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club. Rotary is holding a raffle, with all proceeds going to dental care for local children in need. Prizes include a 3-day trip to Denver with hotel and Broncos tickets. For more information, contact Pat Pier at 987-3265.

  • Glenwood Springs Library hosts free community yoga at 4, led by Alana Monge.

  • Bring legal questions and related documentation to the Pitkin County Courthouse at 5. Volunteer attorneys from Alpine Legal Services will answer questions, first-come-first-served.

  • Marble Distilling Company here in Carbondale hosts the monthly Yappy Hour with Colorado Animal Rescue from 5:30 to 7. Mingle with adorable, adoptable mutts while sipping on MDC signature cocktails – such as the Muttarita and The Bloodhound Mary. $1 from every cocktail all day will go directly to CARE. Your own well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome too.

  • The Bookcliff, Mount Sopris and South Side Conservation Districts host their annual dinner at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue at 6 to celebrate conservation successes.

  • Jonathan Gorst mans the piano at Riviera Supper Club in Glenwood at 6:30.

  • Dana Underwood, Haden Gregg & Hap Harriman play Heather’s in Basalt at 7:30.

  • And at Belly Up Aspen, Kinetix perform Red Hot Chili Peppers songs starting at 10.

Looking ahead…

  • The Carbondale Community Oven invites everyone to the next Bread Bake this Saturday, November 12th. Bring your bread or pizza ready to bake. The oven is located behind the Third Street Center. Bread goes into the oven at 1 pm. Pro tip: Bringing butter, jams or other bread topping goodies is never a bad idea.

  • The T Sisters will be back in Carbondale, performing at Steve’s Guitars on Sunday Nov. 13th.

  • And KDNK’s annual Labor of Love auction and Holiday Bazaar is coming to the Village Smithy on Main Street in downtown Carbondale for First Friday, December 2nd. The auction includes passes from Aspen Ski Co, tickets for Avalanche hockey, a Les Paul guitar, Hunter S Thompson artifacts, plus massages, haircuts, artwork and much more. We are looking for more auction items so if you have something cool to contribute, drop it by the studio or call us at 963-0139.
