Community Calendar for November 28th

  • Summit Canyon Mountaineering, under the clock tower in Glenwood Springs, wants your clean, reusable coats or jackets to donate to the Salvation Army.

  • Collection for Lift-Up food pantries continues at Basalt Realty, next to the RFTA park and ride. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off between 9AM and 5PM through this Thursday December 1st.

  • At 6, Crystal River Ballet hosts beginning ballet and stretch for teens and adults at the Launchpad in Carbondale. The classs is intended for non-dancers or those getting back into dance who want the learn the basics of ballet for conditioning and increased flexibility.

  • A Women’s Support and Empowerment Group meets at Janet Gordon Counseling on Village Road in Carbondale at 6:30. Designed to assist women with easing day-to-day stress, the group shares strategies and experiences in a safe, supportive, confidential setting.

  • The Davi Nikent Center for Human Flourishing hosts a community potluck for plant-based whole foodies and wannabes at the Third Street Center at 6:30.

Looking ahead…

  • On Wednesday, the Aspen Business Luncheon hosts longtime record executive Phil Quartararo in a conversation with Max Langstaff. The talk is called “Why the Record Industry Crashed, And The Music Industry Has Never Been Bigger” and it takes place at Mountain Chalet Aspen.

  • We hope to see all of you at KDNK’s annual Labor of Love auction and Holiday Bazaar this Friday December 2nd at the Village Smithy on Main Street in downtown Carbondale. The auction includes passes from Aspen Ski Co, tickets for Avalanche hockey, a Les Paul guitar, Hunter S Thompson artifacts, plus massages, salon treatments, artwork and hundreds of other items. Pre-register at KDNK.org to earn yourself one free drink at the event. See you on First Friday!
