  • Summit Canyon Mountaineering, under the clock tower in Glenwood Springs, wants your clean, reusable coats or jackets to donate to the Salvation Army.

  • Collection for Lift-Up food pantries continues at Basalt Realty, next to the RFTA park and ride. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off from 9AM and 5PM through Thursday.

  • For the Deck The Walls Holiday show continuing at the Launchpad, Carbondale Arts transforms the R2 Gallery into a shop filled with artisanal goods from local and regional artists from 9 to 5.

  • Basalt Library hosts Girls Who Code at 3:45. The coding club for grades 6-12 teaches computer science for making music, game design and animation. Registration at basaltlibrary.org.

  • Visiting art critic Lilly Wei speaks at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village at 5:30.

  • Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork hosts an Advent Spiral from 6 to 8. The public is welcome.

  • Basalt Library screens the climate change documentary Before the Flood at 6.

  • Jonathan Gorst plays the Riviera Supper Club in Glenwood at 6:30.

  • Smokin Joe and Zoe play Heathers in Basalt at 7:30.

  • Crystal Theatre in Carbondale screens the Disney film Queen of Katwe at 7:30.

Looking ahead…

  • Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Aspen Business Luncheon hosts longtime record executive Phil Quartararo for an event called “Why the Record Industry Crashed, And The Music Industry Has Never Been Bigger” at 12:30 at Mountain Chalet Aspen.

  • And at 1 tomorrow Valley Life for All hosts a free workshop called Empowered to be Independent at Pitkin County Senior Center, with resources and skills for hearing, vision or memory challenges.

  • KDNK’s annual Labor of Love auction and Holiday Bazaar is coming to the Village Smithy on Main Street in downtown Carbondale this Friday, December 2nd from 5 to 9pm. The auction includes passes from Aspen Ski Co, tickets for Avalanche hockey, a Les Paul guitar, Hunter S Thompson collectibles, plus massages, salon treatments, artwork and more. Pre-register to earn yourself one free drink at the event and thank you for supporting KDNK.
