Join Anderson Ranch Arts Center for a Visiting Artist conversation with Dyani White Hawk, a multidisciplinary artist based in Minneapolis whose practice explores cross-cultural experiences through painting, beadwork, sculpture, installation, video, and performance. A member of the Sičáŋǧu Lakota Nation, White Hawk brings together influences from Lakota visual traditions and Euro/American abstraction to create work that considers cultural identity, connection, and contemporary experience.

White Hawk was featured in the 2022 Whitney Biennial and has presented major exhibitions including Dyani White Hawk: Love Language, a mid-career survey co-organized by the Walker Art Center and Remai Modern, and Speaking to Relatives at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver and Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is held in collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Denver Art Museum, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Walker Art Center, and Whitney Museum of American Art.

As a Visiting Artist at Anderson Ranch, White Hawk will engage with the Ranch community through studio work, conversations, and a public lecture. Her Visiting Artist Lecture will take place December 15 from 4:30–5:30 p.m. in Schermer Meeting Hall. The lecture is free, open to the public, and available to attend in person or via livestream.
