Join Anderson Ranch Arts Center for a Visiting Artist conversation with Serban Ionescu, a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, painting, drawing, and architecture. Born in Romania and raised in New York City, Ionescu now works between Paris and New York, creating vibrant works that explore the relationships between line, plane, volume, and form.

Known for his colorful steel and aluminum sculptures, Ionescu brings an intuitive, post-architectural approach to his practice. His recent projects include large-scale works such as Chapel for an Apple, Tower for an Hour, and Smokey, as well as his first public sculpture, the 33-foot-tall Room for a Shroom in Zonhoven, Belgium.

As a Visiting Artist at Anderson Ranch, Ionescu will engage with the Ranch community through studio work, conversation, and a public lecture. His Visiting Artist Lecture will take place October 13 from 4:30–5:30 p.m. in Schermer Meeting Hall. The lecture is free, open to the public, and available to attend in person or via livestream.
