Carbondale gains a new pond... right down Main Street

Heavy rains and hail in Carbondale on Tuesday afternoon led to severe flooding along Main Street in the evening, causing officers to close off the street to cars in a section between 2nd Street and 3rd Street.
Izakaya suffered noticeable flooding indoors and on the patio, with employees mopping up some of the water while others sat their latest guests.
Even the KDNK station experienced some mild flooding.
Locals of all ages marveled at the unusual sight of Carbondale's main thoroughfare unexpectedly becoming a small pond, with several remarking that they hadn't seen anything like it in all of their time living in Carbondale.

If you or someone you know has been affected by the flooding and would like to speak on the issue, please contact News@kdnk.org or Hattie@kdnk.org
