Helicopter guides EMS bikers in memorial ride

If the sight of a helicopter circling south of Carbondale around noon today sent a chill down your spine, fear not.
Instead of a fire or medical emergency, the Classic Air Medical chopper was called for a different kind of assistance. Crews spent part of this afternoon guiding a group of bikers along their route, participating in the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, down Carbondale's Main Street to their luncheon at the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District building.
A name list of the 23 EMS workers memorialized during the event was read prior to the ride, and the full video can be found on the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride's Facebook page.
The trek began in Aspen on Sunday, and will continue following Highway 82 and Interstate 70 until the bikers hit Littleton on Friday the 15th.
