Educational buzzwords become part of local standards concerns

Discussions continue over Garfield Re-2’s option to switch over to the American Birthright Standards, created by the Civics Alliance and endorsed by school board Vice President Tony May. Education journalist Erica Meltzer of Chalkbeat Colorado has covered the issue in detail as some schools are considering the standards.
KDNK Reporter Hattison Rensberry interviewed Meltzer, and asked her about the buzzwords often used when discussing social studies standards nowadays, one such buzzword being “action civics”.
