The balance between residents and the library organizations that serve them was made more evident due to a call from community members for more opportunities for feedback. In response to this, the Garfield County Library District recently hosted a Freedom to Read event in Rifle’s Ute Theatre. KDNK reporter Hattison Rensberry has more.

A full recording of the Freedom to Read event is available to view at: rifle now dot org slash Community Videos.
The current status of both challenged manga series is still in the hands of library board members, who are required to make a decision about the titles on or before November 2nd.

Hattison Rensberry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Drawing, but has worked for newsrooms in various capacities since 2019.
She also provides Editorial Design for the Sopris Sun.
