Stage One Fire Restrictions enacted in Garfield County, starting August 2nd

Due to dry vegetation and windy weather, Garfield County, the City of Glenwood Springs, GarCo Sheriffs, the BLM, and the seven Fire Districts in the county are entering Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on Friday, August 2nd.
Stage 1 Fire Restrictions forbid the use of fireworks, exploding targets, bullets, or tracer rounds.
Campfires are only allowed within fire grates in Developed Areas with maintained vegetation.
All burn permits have been postponed or canceled until further notice, and no fires are allowed in Undeveloped Areas.
Smoking should only be done within designated spaces, and the use of torches for welding should only be done in cleared safe areas.
An end-date for the restrictions has yet to be released by county officials.
