Rock band Pink Fuzz appears in Carbondale to shred guitar and melt faces

Last Saturday, Thunder River Theatre in Carbondale hosted rock band Pink Fuzz on their final stop before touring with The Sword through the southwestern US. The show was a part of the Pink to Black series sponsored by El Dorado Bar and Lounge. Pink Fuzz is a three piece out of Denver fronted by brother and sister John and Lulu Demitro, and drummer Will Trafas. The black box or main stage was converted into a dance floor, flanked by two bars, and from the ceiling hung dozens of bicycles in various states of deconstruction. Splashed across the walls was bright graffiti, bringing to mind a grungy alleyway, a hard left turn from Thunder River’s usual presentation.

Pink Fuzz’s debut album Speed Demon came out in 2018 and since then they’ve been gaining both local and regional traction. Their heavy ambient sound is punctuated by the scream of the electric guitar, Lulu’s evocative soprano and Will’s aggressive drum beats.
