Breaking: At least three students critically injured in Jefferson County school shooting

A shooting on Wednesday at Evergreen High School in Jefferson County left three students critically injured. One of them is reportedly the suspected shooter. All three students are in critical condition and being treated at Common Spirit St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports that at least two students were shot at the school at the noon hour. A fourth student has also been transported to the hospital but it’s unclear what their injuries may be. Police have not found a letter explaining the attack, but they have stated the shooter used a handgun, which they did recover. Jefferson Sheriffs reported via X that Evergreen High School has been cleared and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
