In World Cup ski racing, Vail’s Mikala Shiffrin keeps up the blistering pace with another win on Sunday in Semmering, Austria where she earned her 106th career World Cup victory - and 69th slalom win - in a challenging night time race. On Saturday, Shiffrin posted a respectable 6th place finish in the giant slalom. Next weekend the women skiers travel to Slovenia for another slalom and giant slalom combo.

Two US men broke the top 15 in Lavigno, Italy. It was the World Cup debut on the Livigno track with a super-G. Ryan Cochran-Siegle placed 13th and River Radamus, our ski star from Edwards, slid in at 14th. Livigno will host the freestyle, freeski and snowboard events at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in February. The men's World Cup continues in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy with a slalom on Jan. 7.

US Nordic skiers fared well in the Tour de Ski which opened Sunday. A fast and chaotic skate sprint set the tone for the weeklong annual tour that begins in Toblach, Italy and concludes in Val di Fiemme. Day one brought success for Americans, led by Jessie Diggins in fourth place and five other American teammates in the top 30. On Wednesday, Nordic action will feature Men’s and Women’s 5K skate events. You can stream the races at skiandsnowboard.live.
