No Kings in Glenwood Springs

Signs galore dotted the crowd in Sayre Park and along Grand Avenue Saturday afternoon. Organizers from Mountain Action Indivisible estimate at least 3,500 people from up and down the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys joined millions worldwide to protest the Trump administration’s policies, including the war in Iran, the Epstein files, Israel’s war with Hamas and much more. Local entertainer Mugsy Faye led the crowd in chants and songs along with the Joyful Resistance Choir and the Raging Grannies. Chesca Smotherman of Mountain Action Indivisible, journalist Zoё Rom and Alex Sanchez of Voces Unidas de los Montanas spoke passionately about issues such as public lands, ICE in local communities and possible collaboration with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department, encouraging everyone to maintain the momentum. .
