A pre-evacuation warning has been issued in Eagle County for homes along Cottonwood Pass Road in the area of Blue Hill. (Zones GYF-489, GYF-256, and GYF-492) An evacuation map can be found here.
Firefighters responded to the Cottonwood Pass Fire at about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Be prepared to leave on short notice if needed. Evacuations may issued in this area in the future, and it may be necessary to leave quickly. A Pre-Evacuation means you should:
- Assemble all family members and pets.
- Gather important documents, photos, computers and irreplaceable items.
- Pack essentials such as prescriptions and eyeglasses. Don't forget cash and credit/debit cards.
Those with special needs, livestock, large vehicles, or anyone needing extra time to evacuate is encouraged to leave now. If you feel unsafe, do not wait to be told to evacuate.
The fire is estimated to be a half an acre as of 7:34pm.
