Due to successful firefighting operations on the Sleepy Creek Fire, all evacuation and pre-evacuation warnings have been lifted for homes along Buck Point Drive and Cottonwood Pass Road.
The Sleepy Creek Fire is now 100% contained.
Update July 22, 2026 - 8:35PM:
Crews will continue to work on containment and monitor the fire throughout the night at the Sleepy Creek Fire fire which started this afternoon near Buck Point Road in Eagle County. Evacuations along Buck Point Drive are still in place. Be prepared to evacuate if you are in the surrounding area.
Cottonwood Pass is still closed on both sides.

Crews are responding to a new wildfire near the Buck Point subdivision along Cottonwood Pass in Eagle County.
Eagle County has issued an evacuation order for the area along Buck Point Drive and Cottonwood Pass Road. Pre-evacuation orders are in effect for the surrounding area. Cottonwood Pass is now closed.
The size of the fire is currently 1 acre.
