KDNK's Local Newscast airs weekday mornings at 6:41 and 7:41 during Morning Edition.

If you haven't received your ballot, you can still vote in Colorado up until Election Day. Eric Galatas spoke with the VP of the League of Women Voters, who has other tips for voters.

 

Roaring Fork School District wants public input on attendance boundaries for the new combined elementary and middle school south of Glenwood Springs on the site, referred to as "Eastbank". District officials will host three community meetings to present different, proposed boundaries. The first meeting is tonight from 6 to 7 at Sopris Elementary. Other opportunities are November 3 at Glenwood Middle School from 6 to 7 and on November 7 at Glenwood Elementary from 5 to 6. If you’re unable to attend, you can provide feedback through an online survey on the school district’s website. A Spanish interpreter will be on hand at each meeting.

 

And, Adam Volek is principal of the new "Eastbank" elementary and middle school. He's looking for a permanent school name, school colors, and a mascot. News director Gavin Dahl sat down with Volek for an update.

 

Almost 40 million people are dependent on the Colorado River. Traditionally, the economic valueof the river was based on what the water could be used for, such as agriculture or mining. But, as Maeve Conran reports for Connecting the Drops, more people are pointing to the economic value of keeping water in the river.
