State lawmakers have elected new leadership following this Tuesday’s election. As Bente Birkeland reports, all but one caucus leader will be new to the position.

Salmon numbers are improving in the Blue Mesa Reservoir. Over 12 million kokanee salmon eggs have been collected at the hatchery versus 2 million last year. They are used to stock reservoirs with kokanee salmon, a sport fish that makes for great eating, all around the state of Colorado. Chad Reich from our partner community radio station KBUT in Crested Butte, reports.

 
Today is Veterans Day and government offices are closed throughout our listening area. News Director Gavin Dahl spoke to Garfield County veterans service officer Joe Carpenter, a Navy veteran and director of the nonprofit Vet-Trans, about the significance of the holiday.
