Professor Sean McWilliamssays "As a kid I wanted to go to the stars and be an astronaut. As I got more sophisticated in my thinking, I wanted to understand what we were seeing when we look at stars." Sean is now an assistant professor of Physics and Astronomy at West Virginia University. His work focuses on gravitational-wave astronomy, where he contributes to several current and future observational missions.
