Carbondale Requesting Proposals for Traffic Improvements and Water System Upgrades

The town of Carbondale is soliciting proposals for traffic improvements, a pump back system for nettle creek, and an on-call electrician. KDNK’s Lucas Turner has the details.

The first proposal request is for consulting work related to traffic calming and multi-modal improvements on 8th Street, between Main Street and Village Road. The Town’s website says the project will evaluate the corridor, conduct public outreach, and develop a conceptual plan including estimated costs and phasing.

The second proposal is for feasibility, engineering, and design for a pump-back system on the Nettle Creek water transmission main. It would utilize 3 booster pumps to provide an alternate water supply to out of town customers.

Town Manager Jay Harrington says detailed proposal requests are available at the town of Carbondale’s website. You can find them at carbondalegov.org/residents/rfps
