Colorado Senators Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner delivered remarks on Impeachment Wednesday. KDNK’s Lucas Turner has more.
Democratic Senator Michael Bennet spoke about the importance of the rule of law, and railed against partisanship, describing the US Senate as pathetic, lazy, and broken. Senator Bennet also criticized Republican Senators, saying they were quote “Turning their backs, and closing their eyes.”
Republican Senator Cory Gardner says there is no conclusive reason to impeach the President, and condemned the process as a partisan effort. He also called the impeachment process illegitimate and defective, and says it sets a precedent that would “usurp the people’s power to elect the president.”
