Sunlight Mountain Resort and Aspen Skiing Company have shut down operations. On Sunday, both businesses said this was due to Governor Jared Polis' recent order that ski areas cease operations for one week. Sunlight chose to close for the season but Aspen SkiCo hopes for a late season reopening.
Uphill travel remains open at Sunlight and the resort will issue credit for next season for online purchases. The 2019/20 season passes are non-refundable. Aspen SkiCo impacted, seasonal employees will be offered two additional weeks of scheduled pay. Employees will also retain benefits status at the same level declared at the start of the season.
