New Latino Organization Requests Consistent Translation, Inclusive Aid and Healthcare Access
A public letter penned to Garfield County Commissioners asks that county resources be made more inclusive during times of crisis and otherwise. Beatriz Soto, founding board member of Voces Unidas de las Montañas, explains the new organization's purpose and their requests of local government.
Voces Unidas recently developed a texting hotline to help non-English speakers navigate accessing aid. Within 24 hours of launching, more than 250 Latinos from Parachute to Aspen reached out for help. This campaign is currently accepting volunteers and donations.
