The Centers for Disease Control reports that more than 750,000 people have died in the US due to drug overdoses in the past decade. Opioid overdoses killed close to 47,000 people in the nation in 2018. In honor of Overdose Awareness Month, culminating in Overdose Awareness Day on the 31st, the Garfield County Library District hosts a virtual program tonight at 6 with Maggie Seldeen, Peer Recovery Coach for Mind Springs Health. She spoke with KDNK’s Amy Hadden Marsh about Overdose Awareness Day and more.
