Low Levels in Powell, Mead Could Impact Power Supply

hoover_power_plant_usbr.jpg

Lake Powell and Lake Mead are critical reservoirs on the Colorado River.. The dams that create these lakes supply electricity for homes from California to Nebraska. But, the reservoirs are at historic lows. KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh has more about what could happen if water levels fall too low to generate power.

Amy Hadden Marsh has been reporting for KDNK since 2005. She became the host of Valley Voices, a longtime public affairs show, in 2006. She graduated with honors from Regis University with a Masters degree in Investigative Journalism in 2011 and says, "If it weren't for KDNK, I wouldn't have gone to graduate school and changed careers to journalism."
