In a recent decision the U.S. Postal Service says it will proceed with a controversial plan affecting thousands of customers and postal workers on Colorado’s Western Slope. The change will affect customers in the 814, 815 and 816 area. Prior to the changes, the Postal service hosted a public hearing in Grand Junction drawing roughly 200 persons.

One of the most untouched tributaries in Colorado, the Crystal River, has been the subject of conservation efforts for decades. Conservation groups are working to get the river Wild and Scenic protections that would prevent overdevelopment and overuse. Ecoflight, an Aspen nonprofit, is taking experts into the sky to educate the public about their efforts.
