The opioid situation in the US has reached emergency proportions. Today's show features a presentation, in two parts, by Dr. Rob Valuck, pharmacologist, and director of the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention. Dr. Valuck spoke to health and human services, treatment providers, and law enforcement last week in El Jebel about the opioid crisis in the nation and in Colorado.  Part One is an overview of the crisis, nationally and statewide, plus how we got here.
