  • Raleigh Burleigh was raised in the historic floodplanes of Satank. The Carbondale Rotary Club sponsored him as a youth ambassador to Chile the year before his graduation from Roaring Fork High School. He studied International Affairs and Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder then applied those studies traveling throughout South America the following year. Returning to Carbondale thereafter, Raleigh acquired an internship with KDNK News which led to the opportunity to serve as News Director from 2017 to 2019. After another trip to South America in early 2019, Raleigh Burleigh drew deeper into the confluence as Program Director at KDNK. After that, he served on KDNK's board of directors for 4 years, and is now the editor of Carbondale's weekly newspaper, The Sopris Sun.
  • Leah Donnella is an editor on NPR's Code Switch team, where she helps produce and edit for the Code Switch podcast, blog, and newsletter. She created the "Ask Code Switch" series, where members of the team respond to listener questions about how race, identity, and culture come up in everyday life.
  • Marc Grandbois was born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec and grew up in Chatham, Ontario until he accompanied his parents on assignment to Kamsar, Guinea then Edea, Cameroon. These early experiences earned him an open view of the world and led to relationships that lasted through his life.
  • One of the 'grande dames' of old Carbondale, Mary Lilly was deeply committed to the local community and helped found the Mount Sopris Historical Society. After her death at the age of 100, Mary left a legacy bequest to KDNK that formed the largest single gift to the station's endowment at the time.


  • Mike served as the News Director for KNUJ Radio in Southern Minnesota for over a decade before moving to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2014. Mike hosts the morning news on weekdays from 6am-8am, as well as offering his expertise with additional news reporting duties, engineering, live broadcasts, and DJing his music show ALL MiXED UP when time permits. Mike is also the Entertainment Coordinator at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, and occasionally guides cave tours
  • DJ Phathead, aka Greg Benson, passed away in June of 2017. We miss him.
  • Andy Zanca was KDNK Community Access Radio’s first youth DJ. He passed away in 1998.
  • Krishnadev Calamur is NPR's deputy Washington editor. In this role, he helps oversee planning of the Washington desk's news coverage. He also edits NPR's Supreme Court coverage. Previously, Calamur was an editor and staff writer at The Atlantic. This is his second stint at NPR, having previously worked on NPR's website from 2008-15. Calamur received an M.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri.
