More than 50 No Kings rallies took place around Colorado on Saturday including in Glenwood Springs, where an estimated 4,000 demonstrators marched through downtown wearing costumes and brandishing signs protesting the Trump administration. Protesters gathered Saturday morning in Bethel Plaza under the bridge over the Colorado River.

As immigration raids are taking place across Colorado communities, local law enforcement is struggling to interpret a new law and strike a balance with the federal government. Attorney General Phil Weiser filed a lawsuit on July 22nd against a Mesa County sheriff’s deputy mandating him to follow state laws that bar state agency and local government employees from cooperating with federal officials on immigration civil enforcement.
