State Park

Some of the most bothersome aquatic nuisance species in Colorado recently are unsuspecting shellfish. Invasive zebra mussels were found in Highline Lake in September of 2022, forcing officials to drain the lake in hopes of eradicating them. Now, Highline Lake State Park says they’re back in business for the 2025 season.

Colorado is poised to get a new state park. The new recreational area will include an iconic mountain peak and lots of wildlife in Southern Colorado.
