CCC's Raku Workshop
CCC's Raku Workshop
CCC Raku Workshop!
Saturday, January 24th
9am-5pm
Participants must bring 3-5 handmade bisque pieces. All other materials, glazes, and firings are included.
Participants should wear natural-fiber clothing and closed-toe shoes.
Experience the excitement and unpredictability of Raku firing in this immersive, day-long workshop. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the Raku process, including glazing techniques, kiln firing, and post-firing reduction methods. After glazing their pre-made ceramic pieces, students will take part in the outdoor firing, removing red-hot work from the kiln and placing it into combustible materials to create unique crackle patterns and rich surface effects.
This workshop emphasizes experimentation and creative exploration, making it suitable for beginners as well as experienced ceramic artists. By the end of the day, participants will leave with finished Raku pieces and a basic understanding of this expressive firing technique.
$75/person. Pre-registration is required.
