May’s Family Block Party kicks off Carbondale’s summer season of First Friday events on May 2 on 4th & Main Streets, transforming Main Street into a pedestrian corridor from Weant Blvd to Snowmass Drive from 5 to 9 PM. This annual family-friendly celebration features extended hours at shops and galleries, food carts, and community booths offering activities and games. The Family Block Party takes place from 4 to 8pm at the 4th Street Plaza & Chacos Park and will include local food, music produced by valley youth, fun activities with local non-profits. Stop by the Village Smithy lawn at 5pm to watch the Carbondale Rotary Club’s annual fundraising Fireball Drop, with 1,000 ping pong balls being dropped from atop a fire truck ladder.
