Mountain Tide 'Music on Main' w/ Hanna von Bernthal & Special Guest Chris Erickson, who will have works on display
Mountain Tide Provision Co. presents their monthly 'Music on Main' with local talent Hanna von Bernthal, and this month they proudly present special guest Chris Erickson who will have his amazing works on display in the store.
Chris Erickson is an artist whose use of color blurs the line between sculpture and painting, encouraging the examination of color as expression and its relationship to human behavior. His work reflects his ties to graphic design, graffiti art, and fine art techniques. Erickson uses spray paint, acrylic, canvas, and panel, often merging industrial design and fabrication into his creative process. A notable piece is his “Melting Gondola” sculpture set atop Aspen Mountain. Other works include “SuperULTRAmega,” an interpretation of distilling the distracting noise of the modern technological world into an energy display, and mole©ules, a series of character-like icons representing the magnification of various groups and beliefs, often speaking to systemic issues.
Hanna von Bernthal is a solo-performing singer and guitarist who blends the styles of folk, blues, and country music. From a young age, she drew inspiration from her family of musicians based in Metro-Detroit. In 2023, she unexpectedly pivoted from her background in Marine Biology and within two months of her first gig, began performing full-time. Hanna’s voice has been described as having a captivating, ethereal sound, and she is admired for her ability to connect with her audience through unique renditions of classic favorites. She finds inspiration in the powerful female vocals of Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi and in the song-writing of Bob Dylan and Stevie Nicks. She enjoys covering music from a wide range of genres and artists and is always happy to take live requests from listeners.
