The Future of our Public Lands

The Future of our Public Lands

Tracy Stone-Manning, President of The Wilderness Society and former Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), will provide an analysis of the current state of our public lands, the threats they face from Congress and the Trump Administration, and how all of us who love public lands can play a crucial role in keeping public lands wild and protected for people and nature alike. Tracy will discuss how recent legislation and policy will impact public lands and what The Wilderness Society and the environmental movement are doing to ensure these special places continue to provide wildlife habitat, clean water, and awe-inspiring recreational opportunities for all Americans.

Tracy will be joined for a portion of her talk by Nada Wolff Culver, former Principal Deputy Director at the BLM, to expand the conversation to include the intersection of public land conservation and the priorities of Native American Tribes, the longest stewards of public lands. The talk will be followed by a 15-20 minute Q&A.

This event is free and open to the public. Media, photography, and video recording is strictly prohibited. Press interviews prior to or after the event available upon request.
