Join us for Walking Club hosted by Cook Inclusive!
Every other week we host a walking club, on Mondays at 5PM, that are aimed to be inclusive of every age and ability, while we explore different paved paths throughout Carbondale. We walk about 2 miles every meeting. We will meet outside of the Cook Inclusive office (50 Weant Blvd, Carbondale, CO 81623). We will also end our walk at the same location.
This is a FREE event that is led by individuals that have education and training focused on inclusive navigation. That means whether you join us with children in strollers, are wheelchair bound, or use a mobility aid, we are able to help provide a positive experience.
Again, this is an inclusive club, so even if you do not have mobility concerns, we invite you to still join us for an easy paced walk!

Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art focused on re-directing conflict into harmony. Benefits include confidence, discipline, stress-relief, resilience, community-building and fitness. All levels practice together. We are affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation.

Want to test the waters before committing to a several-week class? Crave an evening out of the house? Interested in trying something new? This 2.5hr teen & adult one-day intro to wheel throwing is perfect for learning the basics and opening your eyes to the possibilities of clay. You will gain a better awareness of the process and craftsmanship that goes into ceramics. We will cover centering, opening, and pulling clay pieces on the potter's wheel. Because this is just a 2.5 hour introductory experience, the intention is to focus on process. You won't go home with any finished pieces, but you will have a great evening learning a new skill, getting dirty, and meeting new people. Careful! You might just leave wanting more…

The program includes a 30 minute meditation, a

Join yoga instructor Devika Gurung for movement and mindfulness at the library. Beginners welcome. Please bring your own mat.

"That Which Remains" by Agustina Mistretta is a poetic interpretation of the language of the mountains, capturing the transitional periods and the apparent changes in the landscape for the perspective of combining personal history, family and found archival material, and a personal obsession with her surrounding topography. Mountains have been a steady guiding force in her life path.

"Empyreal Odyssey" by mixed media artist Benjamin Eric explores the intersection of mythology and cosmology, drawing inspiration from ancient cultural stories and symbols regarding celestial phenomena and the human desire to connect to the divine. Recognizable imagery created through a combination of recycled wood, artifacts and various mediums are meant to be a new narrative as imagined by the artist.

Both shows are on display through September 25. The gallery is open weekdays 10am-5pm.

Join us for a month-long scavenger hunt adventure through the library’s shelves, spaces, and hidden gems. Solve clues and discover books, resources, and surprises along the way. Whether you’re an elementary explorer or a high school sleuth, The Great Library Hunt is your chance to unlock mysteries, earn prizes, and become a true Library Legend! Stop by the front desk to pick up your hunt booklet and start your quest anytime this month. Each Tuesday, we'll have a new themed scavenger hunt booklet for pickup! Once you've finished, come to the front desk for a prize!

Raising a Reader- Aspen to Parachute invites you to our "Little Red Bag Club" for parents and their 0-5 year old children who are not enrolled in school. Join us for a weekly hour of story time, activities and snacks. These classes support brain development and social skills.

Calling all anime enthusiasts who are looking to find their fellow anime community members! Join us as we start an anime club at the library! Whether you've seen every episode of One Piece or are just starting your anime journey, this club is perfect for you. We will screen some favorite anime movies/series as voted on by participants who attend. We'll have a manga reading nook where you can dive into the latest volumes of your favorite series, and snacks and beverages. This program is designed for middle and high schoolers. Registration required.

¡Llamando a todas las personas amantes del anime que deseen encontrar a otros miembros de la comunidad con el mismo interés! ¡Acompáñanos para iniciar un club de anime en la biblioteca! Ya sea que no te hayas perdido un solo episodio de “One Piece” o que apenas estés comenzando tu travesía por el mundo del anime, este club es perfecto para ti. Veremos algunas películas y series populares de anime, elegidas a través del voto por las personas que participen en el club. También contaremos con un espacio cómodo de lectura para disfrutar de manga, de manera que puedas sumergirte en los últimos volúmenes de tu serie favorita, y ofreceremos refrigerios y bebidas. Este programa está diseñado para estudiantes de las escuelas media (middle school) y media superior (high school). Se requiere una inscripción para participar.
