Community Calendar

We are excited to invite families to our early literacy story times. Designed for all ages, we will enjoy stories, songs, and action rhymes in the Community Room. Sitting still is not a requirement for storytime. Young children can reap the benefits of storytelling and songs even while wandering. Give it a try. We would love to see you!

Con gran emoción deseamos invitar a todas las familias a nuestra hora de cuentos para respaldar la alfabetización temprana, creada para peques de todas las edades y presentada en nuestra Sala Comunitaria. Disfrutaremos de historias, canciones y juegos que combinan las rimas con el movimiento. La capacidad de permanecer inmóviles no es una expectativa para la hora de los cuentos, puesto que los beneficios de la narrativa y la música siguen siendo de gran beneficio incluso para peques que prefieren explorar mientras escuchan. Come hang out at the Teen Café on early release Wednesdays. Middle and high schoolers can play the Switch, create art, eat snacks, enjoy coffee, or work on homework. Feel free to hang out for a while or come and go as you please. Must be in Grades 5+ to enter the Teen Café.

Ven a pasar un buen rato en el Teen Café los miércoles de salida temprana. Adolescentes cursando las escuelas media y media superior pueden venir a jugar con el Switch, crear arte, tomar bocadillos, beber un café o hacer sus tareas escolares. Join the Aspen Science Center to dive into a STEM topic with hands-on, engaging activities! Every third Wednesday after school, kids 5-11 and their families can come enjoy hands-on science activities.

Unwind, get creative, and connect with fellow makers at The Makers Nook, a monthly crafting program for adults at the Basalt Library. Held on the third Wednesday of each month from April through June, this hands-on series explores a different creative skill each session—perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike.

April 15th: Scrapbooking – Preserve your favorite memories with beautiful, personalized pages.

May 20th: Candle Making – Learn the art of crafting custom-scented candles to brighten your space.

June 17th: Macramé – Discover the basics of knotting and create a stylish handmade piece.

All materials are provided. Come relax, create, and leave with something uniquely yours!

Relájate, explora tu creatividad y conoce a otras personas con deseos de crear en el programa The Makers Nook (El rincón para fabricantes), un programa mensual de manualidades para adultos en la Biblioteca Regional de Basalt. Ofrecida el tercer miércoles de cada mes, desde abril hasta junio, esta serie práctica explora una destreza creativa en cada sesión — un programa perfecto para principiantes y artesanos expertos por igual.
