Zumba is a global dance phenomenon that invites the body and spirit into a state of pure, rhythmic connection. Originally inspired by the vibrant dance traditions of Latin America — Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, and Reggaeton — Zumba has since grown into a dynamic fusion of world rhythms, blending Afrobeat, Bollywood, Bhangra, Belly Dance, Hip Hop, and more into an electrifying celebration of movement.

Join us every Saturday at 10:30 am at the Third Street Center studio for a fun 50-minute class to explore every rhythm in movement and joy.

The ‘Move with Me’ Program is designed to introduce littles (18 months to 3 years plus a caregiver) to the joys of dance. Using fun, interactive music, props, and make-believe, we will practice listening to music, following directions, and moving our bodies to the beats! A healthy snack will be provided.

El programa ‘Move with Me’ está diseñado para introducir a los peques (de 18 meses a 3 años de edad, con una persona adulta a su cuidado) a la alegría de bailar. Utilizando música divertida e interactiva, diversos accesorios y nuestra imaginación, practicaremos ciertas capacidades como escuchar música, seguir instrucciones y mover nuestros cuerpos al ritmo del compás. Ofreceremos un refrigerio saludable.

Join us for three cozy days of holiday cheer at C.A.R.E.! From Friday, December 12 through Sunday, December 14 we'll be celebrating our 25th year of connecting pets to their people in a festive way!

Readers of all ages, the beloved FREE-FOR-ALL BOOK FAIR is back! Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 13th from 12-5pm at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.

We will have THOUSANDS of new and gently-used books for all ages in English and Spanish...all completely FREE! Books for babies, children, teens, and adults! Bring a bag and take home what you wish. Our mission is simple: to promote the lifelong love of reading in our community.

Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art focused on re-directing conflict into harmony. Benefits include confidence, discipline, stress-relief, resilience, community-building and fitness. All levels practice together. We are affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation.

Aikido classes at CMC Carbondale are now forming for the Spring Semester. Aikido emphasizes non-violent conflict resolution. Principles and techniques are applicable to all types of conflict, not just physical. Training takes place in a joyful and supportive environment. Great workout for mind, body, and spirit. No experience or equipment needed. Classes meet in Carbondale from 6-7:30 every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Try the first 2 classes for free. The Aspen Choral Society proudly presents Handel’s Messiah at Basalt Middle School on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
One of the longest-running and most beloved musical holiday traditions in the Roaring Fork Valley, Aspen Choral Society’s 49th annual season of Messiah will consist of three live performances taking place on December 12, 13, and 14 in Aspen, Basalt, and Glenwood Springs. In 2021, Aspen Choral Society commissioned New York-based composer Gerald Cohen to write several new choral movements for their performances of Messiah. Aspen Choral Society is pleased to present its 49th annual Messiah once again featuring Cohen’s pieces.

Upcoming Performances:
- Friday, December 12 at 7:00 pm (doors at 6:30 pm), in Aspen, at Wheeler Opera House
- Saturday, December 13 at 7:00 pm (doors at 6:30 pm), in Basalt, at Basalt Middle School
- Sunday, December 14 at 7:00 pm (doors at 6:30 pm), in Glenwood Springs, at St. Stephen Catholic Church

2025 Ticket Information:
- Adults: $20 online in advance / $25 at the door
- Youth (13-17): $8 online in advance / $10 at the door
- Children (12 or under): $1

Tickets for Wheeler Opera House are available via Aspen Show Tix. Tickets for all other performances are available online at aspenchoralsociety.org.

When recycling plastic in Carbondale, stick to bottles, tubs, jars, and jugs. No clamshells, plastic bags, coffee cups, or takeout containers. If it's not a bottle, tub, jar, or jug, toss it in the trash. These items can't be sorted and there is no end-user market for them.

Recyclables in Carbondale shouldn't be bagged. Just place them loose in a bin. If your recyclables are in grocery or garbage bags, they're likely being thrown in the landfill instead. Bagging your recyclables may even cause entire loads to be rejected. This is because bags cause jams in the sorting machines which can slow down lines and cause costly damage. Other items that aren't recyclable are bubble wrap, food wraps, and garden hoses.
