Tabor Opera House revitalization gains more financial support from DOLA

Recently the Tabor Opera House in Leadville was awarded with a grant of over 5-hundred and 80-thousand dollars by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs. The funds will be utilized to finish the facade repair project that the Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation has been overseeing for these past three years. This month marks the building’s one-hundred and forty-fourth birthday, and the opera house’s foundation hopes to finish the front exterior renovations by 2025. This is a far-cry from the state of the Opera House in 2016, when it was deemed to be “in danger of demolition by neglect”. Further renovations inside the building will follow, as soon as the exterior and structural concerns have been fully addressed.
