As of yesterday, Colorado has now officially begun their process for reintroducing Grey Wolves. The first five, three males and two females, were released in Grand County on Monday. Four are juveniles, and the last is an adult male. All have been fitted with GPS satellite collars, and have been thoroughly tested for diseases. An exact location for the canines has not been released. In an effort to fulfill the timelines on the Colorado Wolf Restoration and Management Plan, 5 to 10 more will need to be released by mid-March of 2024. Videos of the release are now available to watch on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife social media pages, and more information is at: https://cpw.state.co.us/aboutus/Pages/News-Release-Details.aspx?NewsID=4003
