Dana Greene: So our former municipal judge was Chris Floyd. She stepped down because she is planning to run for Julie McCluskie's State Representative seat. And she was just fantastic for us. She... our municipal court had kind of been the same for a really long time. And when Judge Floyd started, she did so much to expand our bilingual accessibility for the court to work with the community members.
So that if somebody say had to pay a fine, but was unable to, she expanded our- you could work off your fine by doing work at various projects around the city. She just really did a tremendous amount to... I guess to make the courts less obtuse and less opaque to people and more applicable, you know? So she met people where they were in other words.
Lily Jones: She sounds wonderful. Do you know who's gonna replace her?
DG: Yeah, so we just, um, uh, hi appointed Courtney Holm, who as our new municipal judge. Um, she also serves in, um, Gypsum and Vail and Minturn, and sh came in, I mean, we literally appointed her and we had municipal court the next day, which I think is, I mean, that would be my nightmare to start a new job and just suddenly have to begin. But she came in with so much energy for the interview committee, she just, she really wowed our socks off.
I mean, she's highly experienced and just really approachable and. Very excited about continuing Judge Floyd's good work in continuing to elevate our municipal court services.
