NOTE: Information below was originally posted Wednesday, March 11, at 5PM MST. For the latest updates, check Pitkin County Public Health's Facebook Page.

CDPHE confirmed six additional presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in Aspen Wednesday, bringing the total number up to nine. Results from one test are still pending.

A 21-year-old Australian woman who was visiting Aspen tested positive for the virus Sunday after returning home. Contact tracing investigations identified 18 people the woman had contact with during her stay, all of whom are also visiting from Australia.

Of the group, 13 met the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’scriteria for testing, which includes showing symptoms. Pitkin County officials say 10 complied with testing, but three refused. All 13 are under mandatory quarantine or isolation. 5 others from the group did not meet the testing criteria and therefore were not tested or asked to self-isolate.
