In a recent decision the U.S. Postal Service says it will proceed with a controversial plan affecting thousands of customers and postal workers on Colorado’s Western Slope. The change will affect customers in the 814, 815 and 816 area. Prior to the changes, the Postal service hosted a public hearing in Grand Junction drawing roughly 200 persons.

Last week was the kickoff for the City of Glenwood Springs’ Blake Avenue construction project. Construction was anticipated to start April 29th. The first steps are to extend storm drains. At a recent community meeting residents heard from city staff.

Considering accessibility improvements is now part of the process when making changes to a space. That is even more a priority for Mountain Valley Developmental Services, a social services organization based in Glenwood Springs, that is putting accessible changes at the forefront in one of their greenhouses and asking community members to help them with the project.
