The Maroon Bells Scenic Area reopened for the season last week with a new rule for visitors arriving by e-bike. Riders now have to pay a five dollar entry fee — the same fee charged to motorcycles. A meeting in Eagle earlier this month drew e-bike enthusiasts and others who don’t want them on trails where they are now prohibited. Around 50 officials and members of the public and trail groups turned up at the first of two informational meetings hosted by the Bureau of Land Management.
