Dana Farrington

Dana Farrington is the chief editor of NPR's Politics and Policy Desk, which spans coverage of the White House, Congress, politics, the Justice Department, the Supreme Court, and national security. She previously served as deputy of the team, formerly known as the Washington Desk.

Prior to that role, Farrington was a supervising editor for NPR's Newshub team, overseeing morning coverage for NPR.org.

From 2017 to 2021, she was the Washington Desk digital editor and coordinated daily stories, visual feature projects, and the weekly newsletter.

Before that, she was among NPR's first engagement editors and managed the homepage for NPR.org and the main social accounts. Farrington has also worked as a weekend web producer and editor, and has written on a wide range of topics for NPR, including tech and women's health.

Before joining NPR in 2011, Farrington was a web producer for member station WAMU in Washington, D.C.
