After 37 years of FM broadcasting, Carbondale Community Access Radio is seeking its first Executive Director. Leading this unique, fun, and beloved independent media institution is a big responsibility and an exciting opportunity. 

 

Job Overview: The Executive Director acts as general manager at KDNK, leads the staff, leads income generation and budget management, and bears ultimate responsibility for station operations. The ED develops strategy with and reports to the Board of Directors.

KDNK News and Public Affairs won big this year, taking home two regional Murrow Awards from the Radio and Television Digital News Association and multiple first and second place awards from Colorado Broadcasters Association.

KDNK is hiring for a full-time music director. The application window closes November 29 so don't delay! Interviews begin in early December. More information is below.

KDNK's annual Membership Meeting is Monday, November 18 at 6:30pm at Third Street Center Community Hall. The agenda is here and posted in the front hall at KDNK. Light refreshments will be provided. The annual membership meeting will immediately follow the regular monthly board meeting, which will also take place in the Third Street Center Community Hall, at 5:30pm. After a nationwide search that attracted 24 applicants from coast to coast, KDNK has selected it current News Director Gavin Dahl as its new Station Manager. The new GM will start his duties on February 1st, with a meet-and-greet opportunity from 4 to 6 pm on Friday February 3rd at the station. Read more...

The General Manager at KDNK leads the staff, leads income generation and budget management, and bears primary responsibility for station operations. The General Manager develops strategy and policy with and reports to the Board of Directors.

Tania Dibbs is a former ski instructor turned full time professional artist with a local and national following. Tania lives and works in the Roaring Fork Valley, where she continues to pursue a career as an artist, developing her craft with the support of galleries and collectors around the country. Her organic, landscape inspired works range between painting, sculpture and encaustic pieces.

Jörg Schmalian is the head of the Institute for Theory of Condensed Matter at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology where he leads a research group working on strongly correlated electron systems and complex quantum matter interested in understanding new materials with novel electric, optic, magnetic or thermal properties. Before moving to Germany, he was a full professor at Iowa State University and Senior Scientist at the Department of Energy Ames Laboratory. On this month's show, he talks to students from local high schools.
