Express Yourself | VOICES Theatre Project, the Bones of JR Jones & Membership drive fun

On this week's episode of Express Yourself: We speak with the Women’s VOICES Theater Project; we hear from musical artist, The Bones of J.R. Jones; Tracy Strode sheds light on Music Gumbo Productions; and Co-founder of ‘Express Yourself’, Luke Nestler shares highlights of the program and how it serves KDNK’s mission.

Cody Lee has had a lifelong love for community and public radio. First as a baby, with KPFT Houston, then KUT Austin, followed by KGNU Denver/Boulder, KMNO Maui and finally KDNK Carbondale. Cody has DJed at KDNK since 2009 and served as the Music Director since 2019.
A 45-year resident of the Roaring Fork Valley, a DJ since 1989, on KDNK staff since 2004.
Tracy's music journey essentially began at KDNK, when his mom Susie Strode found a home in Carbondale in 1985 and promptly became a DJ on the station, along with wearing many other KDNK hats in the 80s and 90s. Susie also brought dozens of sought-after musical acts to the valley with her Music Gumbo Productions company, and young Tracy would often act as her secretary when the band members or their agents would call the landline at home to talk about upcoming bookings. Tracy has many fond memories of time spent upstairs at the Dinkel Building studio, our original location before we moved to our current home on 2nd Street
Megan career path has always involved working with organizations that support community and creativity. She is excited to take on the role as Station Director.
