The Dolores River bends through a narrow canyon. Dozens of stakeholders have been working to protect the Dolores as a National Conservation Area, or NCA. Some rivers are protected by Congress under The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, but protection as an NCA is less controversial, especially among agricultural interests.

KDNK's Morgan Neely brings listeners Wednesday's news, including the Biden Administration getting ramped up to lease hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands in our region to oil and gas companies. And, we explore measures dozens of stakeholders are pursuing to protect the Dolores River. Plus, an Aspen nonprofit is giving out half a million dollars to fund climate solutions.

Morgan is KDNK's News Director. He comes to KDNK with public radio passion and experience. He was a news host, reporter, and operations/programming director at KAJX-Aspen, and has extensive experience working in municipal government.
