Naloxone has saved tens of thousands of lives in the United States alone.

The Sopris Sun's James Steindler brings listeners Wednesday's news, including the demise of an assault-weapons ban at the Colorado Statehouse. Also at the Capitol, lawmakers look to enshrine reproductive and trans rights, and to make the cost of all healthcare more transparent. And, Garfield County's RE-2 School District may soon have employees trained to administer Naloxone, which can rapidly reverse overdoses caused by opiates. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Coloradans are likely to lose Medicaid coverage, and we take an in-depth look into the wide-ranging impacts that hoax threats have on students at schools in the Mountain West.
