Something about the Carbondale Mountain Fair draws out the best from visiting artists. You hear it time and again on the 22 years of Mountain Fair recordings, ranging from Yonder Mountain String Band in 2000 to the Infamous Stringdusters in 2012.
KDNK and Carbondale Arts have partnered to create a podcast about Mountain Fair. As the 50th year of the Fair approached, Carbondale Arts realized the need to honor, celebrate and preserve the history of this beloved event. The podcast airs on KDNK on Tuesdays at 4:00pm, leading up to the Fair with additional episodes on Friday 7/16 at 4:00pm and Sunday 7/18 at 7:00pm for two full hours of Mountain Fair music! As always KDNK will air Mountain Fair live throughout the whole weekend 7/23, 7/24 and 7/25!
