Trump Budget Threatens Mustangs and Burros

AH Marsh photo

The 2018 proposed Federal budget allocates $1.1B to the Bureau of Land Management, a $163M reduction. This translates to a $70M budget for the Wild Horse and Burro Program, a $10M cut from last year. The budget proposal also recommends elimination of appropriations language that keeps BLM from using all options to manage mustang and burro herds. Valley Voices host Amy Hadden Marsh talks to award-winning filmmaker, director of the Cloud Foundation (a wild horse and burro advocacy and education group), and member of the BLM's Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board, Ginger Kathrens, about what will happen to the nation's mustangs and wild burros if the budget is approved.
